Couples Therapy

Reconnect. Rebuild Trust. Strengthen Your Relationship.
You love each other. So why does it sometimes feel so hard to connect?
Maybe the smallest disagreements turn into the biggest arguments.
Maybe you've stopped talking about the things that matter because every conversation seems to end in frustration.
Perhaps you're struggling to rebuild trust after a betrayal, feeling disconnected physically or emotionally, or wondering how two people who once felt so close could begin to feel so far apart.
Relationships can be complicated, even when there is love.
At The Hope & Healing Project, we believe that relationships can grow and change when partners develop a deeper understanding of themselves and each other.
Our goal isn't to determine who's right or wrong. It's to help you understand what's happening beneath the surface of your conflicts and develop healthier ways of connecting.

When Communication Starts to Feel Impossible
Does any of this sound familiar?
-
You have the same arguments over and over without resolution.
-
One partner wants to talk while the other shuts down or withdraws.
-
You feel misunderstood, criticized, or emotionally dismissed.
-
Physical intimacy or affection has become less frequent.
-
Trust has been damaged, and you're unsure how to rebuild it.
-
You feel more like roommates or co-parents than romantic partners.
-
Small disagreements quickly escalate into major conflicts.
-
You love your partner but feel uncertain about the future of your relationship.
These patterns don't necessarily mean your relationship is broken. They may mean it's time to learn a different way of connecting.

How Couples Counseling Can Help
Our couples counseling approach draws from evidence-based relationship therapies, including the Gottman Method.
Rather than simply focusing on the arguments themselves, we help couples understand the emotional needs, communication patterns, and underlying experiences contributing to conflict.

Together, we work toward:
Improving Communication
Learn how to express your feelings and needs in ways that encourage understanding rather than defensiveness.
Breaking Negative Conflict Cycles
Identify the recurring patterns that leave both partners feeling frustrated, hurt, or disconnected.
Rebuilding Trust
Create opportunities for honesty, accountability, emotional safety, and healing following relationship injuries or betrayal.
Strengthening Emotional Intimacy
Rediscover friendship, affection, vulnerability, and the sense of being truly known by your partner.
Navigating Physical Intimacy Concerns
Explore differences in desire, emotional barriers to intimacy, and ways to cultivate a more fulfilling physical connection.
Building a Stronger Foundation
Develop practical tools for navigating future challenges while maintaining mutual respect, connection, and understanding.
Our Approach: Gottman Method Couples Therapy
The Gottman Method is a research-based approach to couples therapy designed to help partners strengthen friendship, manage conflict, and create shared meaning.
At The Hope & Healing Project, we incorporate Gottman-informed assessments and interventions to better understand each couple's unique relationship dynamics.
This approach helps us identify both the strengths of your relationship and the areas where additional support may be beneficial.
We recognize that every relationship is different, and therapy is tailored to your specific concerns, goals, and circumstances.
What to Expect From Couples Counseling
Your journey begins with a comprehensive couples assessment designed to help us better understand your relationship.
The initial process includes:
1. An Initial Couples Session
We'll explore your relationship history, current concerns, and what each partner hopes to accomplish through counseling.
2. Individual Relationship Assessments
Each partner completes an online Gottman Relationship Assessment, providing valuable insight into relationship strengths and challenges.
3. A Personalized Treatment Plan
Using information gathered during the assessment process, we'll work together to establish goals and begin developing practical strategies for improving your relationship.
Our goal is to create an environment where both partners feel respected, understood, and supported throughout the process.
Investing in Your Relationship
Couples counseling is offered on a private-pay basis.
Initial Couples Intake: $235
Includes a comprehensive Gottman Relationship Assessment completed by both partners.
Ongoing Couples Sessions: $195
60-minute sessions focused on strengthening connection, improving communication, and addressing relationship concerns.
A Stronger Relationship Begins With Understanding
You don't have to wait until your relationship reaches a breaking point to seek support.
Whether you're navigating a difficult season, rebuilding after betrayal, or simply wanting to feel closer to your partner, couples counseling can provide a space to reconnect and grow.
Because meaningful relationships are worth investing in.
